Upcoming Night Works
Drivers advised of roadworks at night this week. The works are to be undertaken at the Fr. Mathew Street / Dundrum Road junction between the 11th and 13th of September 2024. We apologize for any inconvenience these works may cause and appreciate your understanding.
Further to the issue of flyer no.2 on the 06th of June 2024, the contractor GLAS Civil Engineering Limited has continued the works on the scheme. The following works are ongoing:
• Offline surface water drainage works are nearing completion at the rear of Sean Allen Terrace/Knockanrawley Road.
• New surface water drainage works are ongoing past the graveyard.
• Watermain Installation is 75% complete.
• New EIR ducting and chamber installations are ongoing.
• Laying of new limestone kerbs and pouring of concrete footpaths are ongoing along Fr Mathew Street on the RHS.
• New pedestrian crossing layout is under construction outside Maxol service station.

Upcoming Watermain Works: N74 / Fr. Mathew Street
Please note there will be a temporary traffic light system introduced and implemented at the N74/Knockanrawley Road junction to facilitate the laying of a new watermain in the vicinity of the junction, over two short periods of time.
Operation of the current one-way traffic system will still however be maintained throughout these works, with some minor queuing of traffic expected on the N74 and Knockanrawley approaches to this junction being the only anticipated impact on the operation of the one-way system.
The temporary traffic light system will be in place from Monday 22nd July until Thursday 25th July and again from Tuesday 6th August until Tuesday 13th August. We apologize for any inconvenience these works may cause and appreciate your understanding.
