Fr Mathew Street Improvement Scheme – N74 / Knockanrawley Road Junction

On Monday next the 26th of May, we intend to return Fr Mathew Street to normal two-way traffic from the Bansha Road Roundabout up to the western entrance to St. Michael’s Avenue.

On Monday GLAS will commence works to the Knockanrawley Road / N74 Junction. A temporary three way stop and go system will be installed from St Michael’s Avenue to the Graveyard, incorporating the junction.

To allow this system to work safely the upper entrance to St. Michael’s Avenue will be closed off to vehicular traffic for the duration of the week. Pedestrian access will be facilitated from the Fr. Mathew Street side.

To facilitate completion of the surfacing works at the junction, HGV’s and other large vehicles will not be permitted to turn into or out of the junction while the works are ongoing. Please see below traffic management plans for clarity.

On completion of the works at this junction, the remaining work on the scheme will be undertaken using short temporary traffic light systems, localised to the area where the works will be carried out at the time.Should you have any queries in relation to this or wish to bring any concerns to our attention, please don’t hesitate to contact us. We apologise for any inconvenience and thank you for your cooperation and patience while this work is being carried out.
